The Taste of THE GROVE LINE

During the Antwerp Fashion Festival, we presented our first collection – an important milestone that allowed us to go beyond simply presenting our garments. We introduced who we are as a brand, what inspires us, and what we stand for. Rather than a traditional presentation, we created an experience that invited people to connect with our work.

For us, there is a strong connection between fashion and food. Through this presentation, we combined these two worlds in a welcoming atmosphere that encouraged conversation and exchange. With the integration of food we reflected the origins of our materials and created a dialogue between farming, tradition and regional characteristics.

Working closely with European weaving mills and visiting them personally to understand their work firsthand is very important to us. Based on what we learned from our weavers and farmers we approached the chefs Adil and Stephen from Restaurant Harvest and asked them to create small bites that are aligned with the regions, farming methods and textures of our fabrics and leathers.

In that way, our guests were invited not only to see the garments but to touch the fabrics, feel how they fall on their bodies and taste the regions from which our materials originate.

By pairing food with our collection, we aim to shift the perception of sustainability in fashion. We try to achieve that in a playful and immersive way rather than teaching.

Our Single Pleat Pants made of French Merino D’Arles wool, for example, are paired with a French sheep cheese espuma from the same region and a rosemary potato roti – all ingredients that grow on the fields where the sheep graze.

Connecting flavour with the origins of our materials offers a unique experience of the collection.

Food became another way of expressing our material philosophy: that quality begins with the source, and that every ingredient carries the story of where it comes from.

By tasting these regions while touching the fabrics, we hoped to create a deeper understanding of our approach to materials: one rooted in regionality, craftsmanship and tradition.
